Child Support

Overview

Child Support is considered to be the right of the child.

Parents can only waive child support under very limited circumstances.  In most cases, a court will use the Maryland Child Support Guidelines to determine the correct amount of child support to be paid for your child or children.

The Maryland Child Support Guidelines take into account several factors including the respective incomes of the parents, health insurance and other costs, and work-related child care expenses.

McMillan Metro Faerber, P.C. can assist you with such issues as determining whether the Maryland Child Support Guidelines are appropriate for your case, and the proper calculation of “income” to be used in the calculation of child support. Please call us at (301) 251-1180 or submit an online inquiry.
