I am proud to provide effective representation to clients in the challenging worlds of real estate transactions, leasing, entitlements, and approvals.
In any complex transaction, commercial lease negotiation, or entitlement process, you need a lawyer who is practical, even-keeled, and detail-oriented. I am proud to bring that thorough approach to my representation of developers, builders, and investors in commercial real estate transactions, from the negotiation of purchase agreements, development agreements, construction contracts, and loan documents, from property due diligence through closing. I take the same approach in my representation of both landlords and tenants in the negotiation of commercial leases for retail, professional, and industrial space. My focus is always advancing my clients’ short-term goals with tenacity while also putting a practical eye toward addressing long-term risks.
Further, I am well-versed in the complicated and varying entitlement processes of jurisdictions in central Maryland, including zoning, subdivision, and permit approvals. Through my work, I give personal attention to you and your property. I am proud to be able to assist with applications, disputes, and administrative agency reviews and appeals. My experience negotiating and understanding the details of both public approvals and private agreements is invaluable when a dispute emerges. Words matter — And I do not take that saying lightly.
My clients know that they can expect my full attention toward advancing their goals and an approach that includes regular communication and discussion of expectations, guidance in deciphering legalese (and using it effectively), deliberation with consultants, and an ability to build and foster relationships with impact decision makers.
I also worked for several years prior to joining McMillan Metro as an associate attorney with a commercial and real estate litigation firm in Frederick, Maryland, and before that as a judicial law clerk in the Circuit Court for Frederick County, Maryland.
