Overview

With a practical approach to resolving conflicts, I help my clients manage risks and achieve sensible and effective solutions.

My unique focus on both family law and commercial litigation gives me an advantage in trial settings when dealing with “the business of divorce.” Unfortunately, a divorce so often impacts more than just the family and personal assets–business assets often become involved in the process of determining how property is divided. My background in both family law and commercial litigation provides me with the ability to handle not only these types of divorce scenarios, but to provide robust legal counsel that keeps my clients’ needs at the forefront.  Not only do I represent clients before federal and state courts, but I also assist clients in mediation and arbitration proceedings.

As a family law attorney, I have handled matters of all types, whether simple or highly complex, including matters of divorce, separation, custody, alimony, domestic violence, and more. I will work to customize a solution that is appropriate for your unique situation and will use my vast experience in additional fields of law, to find a resolution that accounts for the various facets of my client’s life. With my legal assistance, I can help individuals move forward on a new life path while keeping their children and assets secure.

As a commercial litigator, I have represented an array of business clients, from individuals to publicly traded corporations and small business entities. My extensive litigation experience has included issues such as shareholder disputes; breach of contract cases; construction litigation; estate and probate litigation; and employment litigation, including the enforceability of non-compete provisions, non-solicitation provisions and trade secrets.

I am also well-known in the “factoring industry” as a result of my years of practice in representing companies who purchase payment streams, such as structured settlement payments and lottery winnings.

I am involved with the Bar Association of Montgomery County Maryland, Howard County Bar Association, Women’s Bar Association of Maryland, and Montgomery County Inns of Court.  I am admitted in all state and federal courts in Maryland, Virginia and in the District of Columbia, ensuring that I will be able to help clients in a variety of judicial forums. My goal is to work with my clients to customize a solution that is appropriate for your unique situation and will use my vast experience in additional fields of law to find a resolution that accounts for the various facets of a client’s life.
