I counsel developers and builders on a variety of issues relating to common-interest communities, including the formation, development and continuing governance of master-planned communities, condominium regimes, homeowners associations, and mixed-use projects.
I work hard to guide my real estate clients in the formation of new developments, including the drafting of declarations, bylaws, articles of incorporation, rules and regulations, and disclosure documents in compliance with the Maryland Homeowners Association Act for distribution to homebuyers, preparation and filing of homeowner association depository statements, deeds conveying land to homeowners associations, homebuyers and governmental agencies, and easement agreements.
In addition, I review and interpret existing community documents relative to client rights and obligations and prepare amendments to the documents in accordance with my clients’ preferences and needs. I represent developers in all aspects of commercial and multifamily acquisition, development and lending from entity formation through dissolution.
I am active in the Maryland real estate community and am a member of the Real Estate Section of the Bar Association of Montgomery County, a Board Member of the Catholic Business Network of Montgomery County, a member of the Chesapeake Chapter of Community Association Institute, the Gonzaga College High School Business Network, the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), and a member of the Real Property and Young Lawyers sections of the Maryland State Bar Association.
While attending law school, I served as a legislative aid intern to Del. Erek L. Barron of the Maryland House of Delegates and as a judicial intern to the Honorable Joan E. Ryon of the Montgomery County Circuit Court. Contact me for assistance with your legal issue.
