McMillan Metro is pleased to welcome Terrence M. Sullivan to our real estate law team. With bar admissions in Maryland, District of Columbia, Maryland Court of Appeals, and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, Terry has represented real estate developers, builders, and community and national banks in their transactions for the past 36 years.
After earning his B.A. from The Catholic University of America in the District of Columbia, Terry obtained his J.D. from St. Mary’s University of Texas. He then returned to the D.C. area and spent six years working in downtown DC for Commercial Settlements, which was owned by Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company handling multi-million dollar transactions in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia.
In the course of his client representation, Terry has reviewed and advised upon, and assisted in problem solving with respect to large real estate assemblages and the resultant projects. In connection with that representation, Terry has also acted as an agent for a number of national title companies, involved in every aspect of reviewing title and surveys, drafting and issuing title commitments, interaction with seller’s, purchaser’s and lender’s counsel, underwriting the transaction, conducting settlements, receiving and disbursing funds, recording the deed and lender documents, and issuing the title policies.
Through his dedication and experience, he offers clients creative solutions to complex real estate issues. He also brings a mission and results-oriented approach to each transaction and his clients benefit from his attention to detail and enthusiasm for real estate development.
Terry has successfully represented clients in the acquisition and sale of real property, using his significant experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements and other related documents, allowing his home builder, developer, and lender clients to focus on other issues.
