McMillan Metro, P.C. attorney Ginny Cascio Bonifacino will be participating in a virtual workshop in partnership with the Havre de Grace Arts Collective about artists’ rights and the law. The event, which is free and open to the public, takes place on Tuesday, June 1st at 6 pm.
Professional artists face unique challenges from a legal perspective. Ideas should be protected as your most valuable asset. This workshop focuses on teaching artists about the legalities of art business entities, contracts, copyright, and more. The event gives artists the chance to speak with an attorney whose particular area of expertise is protecting and ensuring artists’ rights.
Ginny Cascio Bonifacino had conducted pro bono work through the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts. She has advised clients on an array of issues related to copyright and trademark issues and has been published in the DePaul Journal Of Art, Technology and Intellectual Property Law, the Art & Cultural Heritage Law Newsletter, and the Maryland Bar Journal.
